"Charged Up" Chapters Win BIG During the ASHA Convention

NSSLHA awarded its first Charge Up Your Chapter awards during the NSSLHA Luncheon and Awards ceremony, November 16, 2012, as a part of NSSLHA Day at the ASHA Convention activities. The Charge Up Your Chapter campaign awards prizes to local chapters that have members who are actively engaged in national NSSLHA and ASHA activities.

The NSSLHA Executive Council developed the categories of each award and established the criteria for award selection. Categories were based on national priorities as defined by the Council. Criteria for selection were based on data collected from posts, application submissions, or general activity by national members of NSSLHA over a defined period of time.

Thanks to a generous donation from ASHA, the 2nd runner-up in each category will be awarded $500, the 1st runner-up will receive $750, and the winning chapter will receive a $1,000 award.

The categories and criteria for the 2013 Charge Up Your Chapter campaign will be announced in January 2013. Local NSSLHA chapters can get "charged up" for the 2013 awards by encouraging their members to RAP (read, apply, and post) whenever they receive materials from NSSLHA or ASHA. When members "RAP," local chapters receive rewards.
