Charge Up Your Chapter: NSSLHA Membership Quest

Charge_Up_275The Charge Up Your Chapter campaign awards prizes to local chapters that have members who are actively engaged in national NSSLHA and ASHA activities.

The NSSLHA Executive Council develops the categories of each award and establishes the criteria for award selection. Categories are based on national priorities as defined by the Council. Criteria for selection is based on data collected from posts, application submissions, or general activity by national members of NSSLHA over a defined period of time.

Here's the chance to showcase how your chapter gets "charged up" about NSSLHA membership. Create a short video, design a t-shirt, or create a poster that conveys your chapter's energy and the power of being a part of a local NSSLHA chapter. Videos, t-shirt designs, and posters will be exhibited at The NSSLHA Experience at the ASHA Convention. The winning chapter in each category will be announced during the NSSLHA Honors Ceremony on Friday, November 15, 2013, during The NSSLHA Experience at the ASHA Convention, McCormick Place, Lakeside Center, Ballroom E354b, Chicago, Illinois.

Boost your chapter's energy and power in the Charge Up Your Chapter: NSSLHA Membership Quest! Give your members a jump start on their connection to a network of resources and life-long rewards.

Charge Up Your Chapter Eligibility and Rules

To qualify the chapter must be in good standing with national NSSLHA by October 31. The chapters that are selected for an award will be selected based on data collected by the National Office. All qualifying data will be retrieved through the NSSLHA/ASHA database management system, Convention registration system, or the Higher Education System.

Qualifying data are defined as

  • data belonging to a chapter that has recertified with national NSSLHA by October 31;
  • data from individuals who are registered website users on the NSSLHA/ASHA website by October 31;
  • data from individuals who have identified the academic program with which they are currently affiliated in the NSSLHA/ASHA database;
  • data entered into the ASHA Convention registration database; and
  • data entered into the Higher Education System.

Chapter Recognition Awards

The NSSLHA Council is rewarding our local chapters that are successful in engaging their members to participate in tasks and activities that have an impact on the future of NSSLHA. The categories of involvement include

  4. Chapters will be required to bring the final poster presentation to The NSSLHA Experience at the ASHA Convention. Limit poster size to approximately 4' x 8'.

  6. Chapter posters are not eligible for ASHA Continuing Education Units.
  7. The winning poster(s) will be selected by The NSSLHA Experience at the ASHA Convention attendees through a paper ballot process.
