Call for Nominations – 2013 NSSLHA Honors Program
The NSSLHA Honors committee is currently accepting nominations for the following awards:
- Chapter Advisor Award
- Chapter Honors
- Honors of NSSLHA
- Member Honors
- NSSLHA Editor's Award
2013 Nominations Schedule & Resources
Nominations will be accepted electronically until 11:00 p.m. EST on March 1, 2013. The NSSLHA Honors Committee will meet to review the nominations and select this year's recipients.
Award recipients will be notified in April/May. Recipients will be honored at the NSSLHA Luncheon and Awards Ceremony during the 2013 Annual ASHA Convention.
Submissions Are Now Being Accepted for the 2013 Student Ethics Essay Award (SEEA)
Participating students write an essay on the selected ethics topic and submit it to their NSSLHA Chapter Advisor for initial review.
Each NSSLHA chapter/Regional Councilor may select up to five student essays for submission to ASHA for the final review and selection process.
Members of ASHA's Board of Ethics review the entries and select three winning essays and monetary prizes (typically $750, $500, and $250 for first, second, and third place respectively). Certificates are awarded to the writers of the top three essays.
Any or all of the winning essays may be published on the ASHA and/or NSSLHA website, in The ASHA Leader, and/or in other ASHA/NSSLHA publications.
The deadline for student submissions is 5:00 p.m. EST on April 12, 2013.
NSSLHA Grants Available for Educational Seminars, Professional Speakers, Advocacy and Local Community Service Activities
The National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA) is accepting applications for its Community Service Grants and Nancy McKinley Regional Project Grant.
Up to 20 grants are available. Grant awards up to $1,000. The deadline to apply is 11:00 p.m. EST on March 1, 2013.
