Did You Forget Something? It's Time to Maintain Your ASHA Certification

If you are in the 2008–2010 Certification Maintenance interval, you began your journey three years ago. Time certainly goes by quickly when you are having so much professional development fun!

As an ASHA certificate holder you are required to meet the Certification Maintenance Standards which mandate that all certification holders not only pay annual dues/fees, but also accumulate 30 Certification Maintenance Hours (CMHs) of professional development during each three-year certification maintenance interval and submit a certification maintenance compliance form.

To comply with the Certification Maintenance Standards, you should have completed all of your CMHs by December 31, 2010, and submit your compliance form no later than February 28, 2011.

Submitting your Compliance Form online is as easy as 1-2-3:

  1. Login to the My Account section of the ASHA website.
  2. Find the "Certification Maintenance" heading.
  3. Select the link that contains your current certification interval and it will take you to the Compliance Form and online status page and begin the submission process.

You also may submit your compliance form by mail. Simply download the form [PDF] and mail it directly to the ASHA National Office.

If you have any questions concerning maintaining your ASHA certification, please contact the ASHA Action Center at 800-498-2071 or send an e-mail to certificationmaintenance@asha.org
