Students Selected for Leadership Program

Thirty-two students will participate in the 2011 class of the Minority Student Leadership Program (MSLP) at the ASHA Convention in San Diego Nov. 15–20.

The program was established for undergraduate seniors, master's, and doctoral students in communication sciences and disorders. Now in its 12th year, the program is designed to recruit and retain students from racial and ethnic minorities that have been historically under-represented in the professions.

The MSLP includes focused educational programming and activities that build and enhance leadership skills and an understanding of how the association works. Participants also have an opportunity to interact with leaders in the professions. The award includes Convention registration, five nights' lodging, a $150 stipend, and program materials. The 2011 MSLP participants are:
