Recently, ASHA posted an announcement, SLP and Audiology Medicare Providers Must Revalidate Enrollment (August 17, 2011), stating that Medicare providers and suppliers who enrolled in the Medicare program before Friday, March 25, 2011, would need to revalidate their enrollment at some point between now and March 2013. This is because of new risk screening criteria required by the Affordable Care Act.
Do NOT submit your revalidation until you are notified to do so by your Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC). You will receive a notice to revalidate between now and March 2013. This will allow MACs to process revalidations in a timely fashion and allow providers to take advantage of innovative technologies and streamlined enrollment processes now under development.
