I joined NSSLHA because: I joined NSSLHA because it offers valuable resources to students who wish to succeed in the field of Communication Disorders. Along with the opportunity to access academic journals that enhance my personal knowledge and understanding of Speech-Language Pathology as a career, I also joined because of the prospect of meeting and building relationships with professionals already working in the field. I also looked forward to being able to connect and work with other students in Communication Disorders. NSSLHA offers the perfect setting to be surrounded and supported by students all striving towards the same goal of succeeding as Speech-Language Pathologists or Audiologists.

I applied for a position on the NSSLHA Executive Council because: I applied for a position on the NSSLHA Executive Council because I wanted to continue the work I had begun as President of my local NSSLHA chapter. As president, it has been my goal to increase active participation in the chapter, as well as to increase our service to the community. Being on the Council would allow me to network with students and professionals across Alaska, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia to expand participation and promote community service for all in the region.

My two year term on the council will be successful if: During my two-year term on the council, I will be successful if I accomplish an increase in NSSLHA participation, an increase in community service, and an increase in the interest and awareness of NSSLHA among those involved in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. I plan to be a true representation of the student voice of the entire region.

My vision for my region is: My vision for my region is to be a strong and cohesive region, with students, professionals, and resources united for the common goal of making a difference in the world of communication disorders.
