Qualification: Member, American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
Term: July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2013
Requirements
- Flexibility in professional calendar to devote sufficient time per week/month to NSSLHA business and activities
- Support and appropriate release time from employer to carry out the responsibilities of this position during the year
- Excellent leadership and strong organization skills, plus the ability to coordinate activities and/or chair committees or task forces
- Able to relate well to students and other professionals
- Able to devote the majority of time during the annual ASHA Convention to NSSLHA meetings
- Previous editorial experience preferred and highly recommended
- Must be a member of ASHA
Responsibilities
- Guides and advises the Executive Council on all matters related to publications
- Supervises and manages all publications by NSSLHA
- Serves as Editor and prepares the biannual Contemporary Issues in Communication Science and Disorders (CICSD)
- Represents NSSLHA on the ASHA Publications Board

- Reimbursement for reasonable hotel and transportation expenses incurred at fall and spring meetings and other association-related travel
Selection
The candidate(s) for Editor will interview with the NSSLHA Executive Council at its meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana in November 2009. All applicants will be notified of the results by January 2010.
