Get involved in the NSSLHA Capitol Hill Campaign!

Is your NSSLHA Chapter looking for a way to have a big impact on Capitol Hill without having to travel to Washington D.C?

The national office has created the perfect activity for your chapter to get their voices heard on Capitol Hill:

  1. Distribute issue briefs to your members.
  2. Identify your state representatives in the House and in the Senate.
  3. Have your members prepare a letter to their representatives.
  4. Get as many students, faculty, and clinicians from your program involved in this campaign.
  5. Designate one person to collect all letters.
  6. Follow the impact that you've made.

4. Get as many students, faculty, and clinicians from your program involved in this campaign.

This is a good time to educate members in your program about the importance of advocacy in the profession. Without advocacy you won't have a voice.

Also remind your chapter that their involvement in this activity counts toward the chapter recognition program. At the end of the year, your chapter could be eligible for awards and prizes.
