NSSLHA Extends Search for Executive Director and Editor
Applications for Executive Director and Editor will be accepted until October 12, 2009. Each positions' term will begin July 1, 2010. Interviews will be conducted at the 2009 ASHA Convention in New Orleans, Louisiana (November 19–21, 2009).
Executive Director
The executive director is responsible for executing contracts within the guidelines established by the Council, negotiating the agreement between NSSLHA and ASHA, and supervising the director of operations and administrative assistant in the National Office.
Editor
The editor guides and advises the Council on all matters related to the publication of journals and newsletters. The editor also serves as the liaison for NSSLHA and the ASHA Publications Board. In particular, the editor oversees the NSSLHA journal, Contemporary Issues in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CICSD). Select the above link for more information.

NSSLHA Grant Program for Chapters
NSSLHA is currently accepting grant applications for the Community Service Grant and the Nancy McKinley Regional Project Grant.
Community Service Grants
NSSLHA Chapters in good standing are eligible to receive matching funds up to $1000 to purchase equipment (e.g., AAC devices, computers and/or peripheral computer devices) or other materials (e.g., clinical tests, software) to donate to a nonprofit organization. Nancy McKinley Regional Project Grants
NSSLHA Chapters in good standing are eligible to receive funds up to $1000 to support educationally oriented projects designed by NSSLHA members with the goal of benefiting the students within a given region. This award is named in honor of Nancy McKinley, founding owner of Thinking Publications, because of her dedication to NSSLHA and students pursuing careers in the communication sciences.
