Guidelines for NSSLHA Chapter Honors

Having a local NSSLHA chapter has become even more rewarding! Simply earn points for your local chapter and receive national recognition for your outstanding achievements.

NSSLHA Chapter Honors are awarded to local chapters for their fundraising, community service, advocacy, career awareness, and recruitment efforts. Chapters meeting the criteria for gold, silver or bronze status will be acknowledged by the national association annually during the ASHA Convention, in print, and on the Web.

The Honor that you earn is up to you: Use the guidelines below to be awarded the bronze, strive for the silver, or go for the gold!

Chapter Honors applications will open on September 1 and close March 1. All activities that are planned or occur during this time will count for that application cycle. For example, if your chapter planned and hosted an advocacy event in May 2013 that event can still be submitted for the 2013 cycle, even though it occurred past the application deadline (March 1). However, events that occur during the summer months or are executed by an incoming council will count for the next year's application cycle. This cycle division is designed to ensure students who are responsible for planning and executing events or activities will be the recipients of the chapter honors.
