We will be collecting new, unused children's socks, underwear, and sneakers for our donation drive during the ASHA Convention to benefit the Atlanta Children's Shelter and Partnership Against Domestic Violence. Items for children from infant–14 years old will be accepted; look for designated collection bins throughout the Georgia World Congress Center.
The Atlanta Children's Shelter provides provide loving, quality child development and support services for homeless families striving to become self-sufficient. They offer a whole family approach that includes on-site case management, on-site early childhood education program, on-site employment program, and aftercare services which end homelessness in metro Atlanta. Partnership Against Domestic Violence works to end domestic violence by providing crisis shelters, as well as comprehensive prevention, community education and advocacy programs in order to empower women and their children to live a life free from domestic violence.
Please donate to the drive and help support the efforts of these organizations in the Atlanta community.
Everyone is also welcome to participate in the fun, team-building service activity led by the Minority Student Leadership Program (MSLP) participants on Wednesday afternoon. Tickets for the service activity are free but must be reserved through registration (space is limited).
