Program Planner
Welcome to the online Program Planner tool for the ASHA Convention education program. Take advantage of this resource—it is designed to help you get the most from your Convention experience.
Access the ASHA Convention program and handouts through the online
Program Planner.
About the Planner
The Program Planner has been designed as a simple online tool to help you plan and maximize your time at Convention. The Program Planner allows you to browse, search, and sort all of the education sessions offered during the ASHA Convention—both oral seminars and poster presentations—using the search parameters that make the most sense to you. You can review author bios, as well as related presenter disclosures, and plan how to spend your day to earn the most continuing education credit. Handouts, both those uploaded prior to the Convention and final presentations, are also accessible through the Program Planner. Most importantly, the Program Planner allows you to create your own detailed, personalized daily schedule of sessions that reflects your professional interests before arriving in Atlanta.
How do I use the Program Planner?
The Program Planner will open to the general search tab. Within that tab, there are buttons that will allow you to search all sessions by various options, such as topic or session type. However, you can conduct a more detailed search by one or more of the following items in the search fields:
- Keyword
- Session code
- Date
- Speaker's name
- Session format
- Instructional level
- Tracks
Here is an example of an effective search:
Type "autism" in the keyword search box, and select "Search". A listing of every session with "autism" in the title and abstract will appear in the search results displayed below the search panel. The word "autism" will be highlighted in each session listed.
You can narrow down the results of your keyword search by using a combination of the other search choices in the menu. For example, you may view only intermediate level poster presentations related to autism on Thursday.
Once the list of sessions appears below in the box listing search results, you can select the title of each session to read the full session details in a pop up box.
View Session Details
Select a session in the search results and select the title of the session to open a pop-up box that provides the complete information for that session. You can review author bios and disclosure information, read the abstract for the session, view the learner outcomes, and review advance materials (once uploaded by presenters).
If you decide you would like to add a particular session to your personal calendar, you will first need to select "Log Into My Itinerary." The first time you do this you will be prompted to create an account. After you create an account, any changes and edits to your itinerary will be automatically updated. Then you can add any session to your schedule by checking the box "Add to My Itinerary."
Create an Account
You may browse through sessions as much as you would like. However, you will need to create an account to build a personalized itinerary. The account you create for the Program Planner will be a new, unique account and is unrelated to your ASHA membership account. Creating an account will also allow you to save and review your schedule at a later date. You may also either download your schedule to your Outlook calendar or print it out. In addition to the title, date, time, and location, the printed version provides a brief session outline that includes the abstract and authors.
View Session Handouts and Materials
Both the handouts uploaded by presenters prior to the Convention and final presentations are accessible through the Program Planner. To view presentation materials, select the title of the session to open the pop-up box that provides the full session details. If materials have been uploaded, you will see them at the bottom of the box.
Please keep in mind that handouts for sessions will only be available if 1) the presenter(s) agreed to make their handout available to the public and 2) the presenter(s) uploaded their handouts to the Program Planner.
