Call for Papers

The 2024 Call for Papers closed on April 4. If you have any questions, please email us at papers@asha.org.

Welcome from the Convention Co-Chairs

The Convention Co-Chair for Audiology, Kimberly Ward, and the Convention Co-Chair for Speech-Language Pathology, Jerrold Jackson, invite you to submit a proposal to present at the 2024 ASHA Convention. They are excited to introduce our theme this year—“ELEVATE!”—a call to advance research and practice in the professions, and especially encourage submissions that draw on the theme. Take speech, language, and hearing sciences to the next level by sharing your knowledge!

Submission Guidelines

Please thoroughly read the updated Submission Guidelines before you log in to submit your proposal. We have made some new refinements to the session formats and other areas. The guidelines outline the submission process, define terms, and provide explanations of information required to submit a proposal.

Program Topic Areas

The education program covers 32 topic areas related to the professions. All proposals must correlate to one of the topic areas.

Read the full description of each session format offered at the ASHA Convention. Proposals may be submitted for any of the following session formats:

Author Agreement and Disclosure Policy

Before submitting your proposal to the Call for Papers, it is extremely important that you read, understand, and agree to follow the principles, guidelines, and procedures outlined in the Author Agreement and Disclosure Policy.

**IMPORTANT**: All authors listed on the proposal are required to complete the disclosure form and submit a bio by Tuesday, April 23, 2024, 11:59 p.m., Pacific Time. If ANY author does not complete their disclosure, the ENTIRE PROPOSAL will be administratively withdrawn. This is an important change to our policy, which previously stated that only the author would be removed.

Session Inclusion in ASHA Learning Pass

Authors of 1-hour sessions have the opportunity to allow a recording of their session to be included in the ASHA Learning Pass, ASHA's extensive catalog of credible, curated online course content. Having your session in the Learning Pass post-Convention greatly expands the reach of your presentation, allowing more members to benefit from your content.

If submitters select “yes” or “maybe” to the question in the Call for Papers that asks if they want their session considered AND the session is accepted, ASHA Professional Development will consider the session for inclusion in the Learning Pass. Due to technical, time, and space limitations, we can only include a limited number of sessions.

If the session is selected, each presenting author will receive an email letting them know and asking them to complete an additional agreement. If any of the presenting authors decide they do notwant their session included, they can opt not to fill out the agreement and the session will not be included. If allpresenting authors complete the agreement, your live ASHA Convention presentation (audio and slides only) will be recorded on-site.

Recorded sessions will become part of the Learning Pass (accessible only to registered learners, within our ASHA Learning Center) and be eligible for continuing education credit (ASHA CEUs or professional development hours) for up to 5 years (the standard period for which ASHA typically offers courses for CE credit).
