This position is funded through December 31, 2014.
The purpose of this position is to assist in the development of speech-language pathology practice resources by leading teams that include staff and volunteer members with content expertise. The information will be posted on the ASHA website. The individual in this position will report to the Chief Staff Officer for Speech-Language Pathology.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a project leader and ex officio to ad hoc committees, joint committees, and working groups charged with the development of information that influences and shapes education and professional practice in speech-language pathology.
- Develop resources that address current trends and critical issues related to the provision of speech-language pathology services.
- Maintain and update web-based speech-language pathology resources.
- Administer the speech-language pathology intranet site for managing the work of the assigned committees and working groups.
- Coordinate and participate in meetings with a project manager, a cross-unit communications team, and a working group.
Qualifications
Knowledge Typically Acquired Through
- Master's degree in speech-language pathology
- Experience reviewing and/or disseminating information that pertains to the discipline of communication sciences and disorders
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology
- Practical experience in the profession, with specific expertise in one or more of the following areas: health services with pediatrics and/or adults in a variety of settings, private practice services, speech-language pathology services
Scope and Depth of Technical Skills/Knowledge
- Support committee work (e.g., scheduling conference calls and meetings)
- Assist with dissemination of speech-language pathology products and services (e.g., presentations, e-mail blasts, group e-mail campaigns)
- Use the speech-language pathology intranet site (Microsoft Office Sharepoint) for managing the work of the unit

- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Organized and detailed-oriented
- Willingness to assist others individually and on teams
- Ability to manage time effectively to complete multiple projects
Salary:
$63,637–$70,708
