You're an ASHA Approved Continuing Education Provider; Tell the World!
We are pleased to introduce the ASHA Approved CE Provider Insignia! In response to your feedback, we've developed a new image you can use to display your relationship with ASHA Continuing Education. Not to be confused with the brand block, the Insignia serves as your organization's seal of approval from the ASHA Continuing Education Board!
Many of you found that the brand block did not fully serve your needs because of the size limitations and required specificity to a particular course. The Insignia is our answer. With its size flexibility and no requirements for additional text, the Insignia is just what you've been asking for. This new image can be easily used in a variety of print and electronic communications, including brochures, websites, and advertisements. Please note that the brand block is still required in primary course promotional materials; however, the Insignia is a great way to promote your relationship with ASHA CE when you're not describing a specific course.
We offer a simple, convenient image delivery process. We can either upload an image file you can access from YOUSENDIT.COM or give you the file on a CD. Contact your ASHA Provider Manager to get the Insignia.

ASHA Course Search: New and Improved for You and Your Audience
Are you aware of ASHA CE Course Search? Do you recognize this as an added incentive benefit to your ASHA CE Provider status? ASHA CE Course Search is a powerful tool that helps ASHA members find learning opportunities that meet their professional needs. This online function is directly linked to the ASHA CE Registry database of courses available from the wide array of ASHA Approved CE Providers. Let's explore this online feature together.
Linking to the ASHA Course Search function is as easy as logging into the ASHA CE home page. The Course and Offering Registration Form asks whether the course should be included in Course Search. Just check "yes" and the course will be published in the database. Though Course Search shouldn't be regarded as a primary promotional tool, it is a value-added enhancement that helps you inform a wider audience of your CE programming.
Members who use Course Search can find ASHA CE courses using a variety of parameters including keywords; dates; or locations encompassing the United States, Canada, or other international locations; as well as distance learning options. Searching by subject area, members can view courses in audiologic assessment; audiologic habilitation/rehabilitation; cultural/linguistic diversity in education, training, or service delivery; dysphagia assessment/intervention; education/training issues; fluency disorders; hearing assistive technology; hearing science; industrial audiologic/hearing conservation; types of language disorders including phonology/articulatory, aphasia/neurogenic, cognition; augmentative and alternative communication/assessment and intervention; language science; leadership/management in professional practice settings; microcomputer/technology applications; motor disorders of speech (assessment/intervention); patient safety; prevention of medical errors; preprofessional education; psychosocial issues; regulatory issues; Praxis Exam review courses; service delivery; speech science; and voice disorders.
Returned search results will include the course title and date, Provider name and registration contact information (if made available to us), course location, and number of ASHA CEUs available. As an ASHA Approved CE Provider, you will not be charged to have your information included in Course Search. To reap the full benefit, register your courses early. Because anyone who is a member of ASHA and/or the ASHA CE Registry has free and unlimited access to Course Search, you'll have a large audience of potential customers.

Attention CEAs. There is a new, fast, easy way to file all of your events: ASHA's Electronic Course and Offering Registration process, powered by eShow! This online process is not only user-friendly, it's also eco-friendly. Get rid of all that excessive paper and go green.
You no longer have to copy, fax, or mail your course items. You simply create the necessary documents in either a Word file (.doc) or an Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) file, log on, fill in the information online, attach your documents, and hit "submit."
In order to file your courses online, select the link provided on the ASHA website in the section reserved for Continuing Education Administrators. Select the link Electronic Course & Offering Registration Form, sign in using your assigned CE Provider code (four letter code), find and verify your CEA information, and follow the step-by-step instructions provided on the online form. The information required is the same information you are accustomed to providing for your course submissions. Files that you have prepared prior to filling out the online form are uploaded in the appropriate sections. After you have completed all of the necessary sections, you simply hit "submit." If you are not ready to complete the form, you can choose "save and edit later" to save the information you've recorded until you return to complete and submit the form.
The online process also allows you to submit payment for cooperative offerings, via credit card, in a manner that is secure.

New Benefit: CE Registry Users Can Now Access Their Transcript Online!
On March 12, 2012, ASHA CE Registry launched an application through asha.org where eligible CE Registry participants can view their transcript information online! You may have already heard about this or, if you are an ASHA CE Registry user yourself, have looked up your own transcript online.
We have received positive feedback about this new service from our users. One user told us that she is "delighted to have this transcript immediacy!" Other feedback we got ranged from how convenient the new service is to "It's about time!" We agree, and we encourage you to spread the word to your participants who use the ASHA CE Registry or who are considering joining.
With 24/7 access to viewing their transcripts, participants can now keep track of their own progress without writing or calling the ASHA CE Registry and perhaps having to wait for a response. The application is accessible on a smartphone or tablet too!
Users are offered several different views of their ASHA CEU information:
- The current transcript (past 6 years plus the current year)
- Courses taken within the participant's current CCC maintenance interval, as well as those in the most recent interval
- A complete listing of courses taken since the participant began earning ASHA CEUs

Help Us Protect Your Sensitive Payment Information
This year, ASHA began taking steps to better protect sensitive payment information through compliance with the Payment Card Industry (PCI) "level three merchant" standard for processing, storing, or accepting credit card information/payments. The number of credit card transactions and size of the business determine the specific compliance requirements. Because ASHA processes between 20,000 and one million MasterCard and/or Visa transactions annually, it is considered to be a level three merchant.
ASHA Continuing Education made two major changes to its procedures that will contribute to ASHA's PCI Compliance.
- In February 2012, ASHA CE introduced the Electronic Course and Offering Registration Form, which has a secure, online credit card payment option through PayPal.
- In April 2012, ASHA CE updated the paper Course and Offering Registration Form [PDF] to include a payment page on the first page of the form. This change consolidated all payment information and separated it from other course information so that ASHA's accounting department can use that page to process the payment immediately while the remainder of the form can be used for data-entry, review, and registration.
How does this affect CE Administrators? Well, we need your assistance to protect your organization's sensitive payment information. Here is how you can help:
- Do not fax or e-mail credit card information to ASHA Continuing Education. ASHA will no longer accept credit card payments submitted by fax or e-mail.
- Use the Electronic Course and Offering Registration Form for cooperative offerings and pay fees using a credit card,
Use the revised (April 2012) version of the paper Course and Offering Registration Form, fill out the applicable information on page 1, and mail it to:

If no payment information is necessary (if the course has no cooperative offerings), you do not need to send the first page of the form.
If you have received an invoice from ASHA CE and have the invoice number, you may call the ASHA Action Center at 800-498-2071 to pay the cooperative fee by phone.
Sample Certificate of Participation
Some ASHA Approved CE Providers distribute a certificate of participation to individuals who complete their courses. We understand that course attendees appreciate having a certificate to document attendance, especially if they maintain their own records. A sample certificate of participation has been developed for use by ASHA Approved CE Providers.
The ASHA Approved CE Provider Brand Block should not appear on the certificate; the brand block graphic image is intended to be used only on the primary promotional material. The wording on the certificate can not imply that the certificate is a record of ASHA CEUs. Only the ASHA CE Registry awards ASHA CEUs, not our Providers.
The certificate of participation does not replace the CEU Participant Form that participants must complete and return to the Provider at the course's conclusion so that the participant's name can be awarded ASHA CEUs by the ASHA CE Registry.
The record of successful completion of a particular course and the ASHA CEUs awarded for the course will appear on an individual's transcript—provided the participant form was completed and returned—after the CE Provider submits the post-activity reporting, approximately 45 to 60 days after the course was held.
