Barbara Brandt, PhD, University of Minnesota (keynote speaker)
Barbara Brandt is an associate vice president for education and professor in the Pharmaceutical Care and Health Systems department at the University of Minnesota Academic Health Center. She is responsible for implementing the University of Minnesota Academic Health Education Center "1Health" initiative in interprofessional education. She also serves as director for the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education.

Kenn Apel, PhD, University of South Carolina
Kenn Apel is professor and chair of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of South Carolina and past-president of Council of Academic Programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CAPCSD). His area of research focuses on the underlying linguistic components that support the development of word-level reading and spelling. Apel is a Fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

He currently serves as coordinator of ASHA's Special Interest Group 6, Hearing and Hearing Disorders: Research and Diagnostics.

Dr. Scherer is chair of the Speech and Hearing Science department at Arizona State University. She has implemented a primary care–allied health interprofessional community clinic model that serves rural communities and integrates interprofessional training opportunities across health disciplines.

- identify two strategies to foster shared conversation and shared language to enhance collaboration between education and practice;
- describe the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education's vision and goals.
