CAA Accreditation Decisions
March 18, 2013
Below is a list of recent accreditation decisions reached by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
CAA's accreditation is sought voluntarily by education programs that offer graduate degrees in speech-language pathology, audiology, or both, designed for graduates entering the professions. Entry-level education may be achieved through a master's or doctoral-level program. The CAA applies accreditation status classifications to each program that reflect CAA's evaluation of the extent to which an education program complies with the Standards for Accreditation. Any program that holds the status of "Accredited" or "Accredited-On Probation" is considered to be an accredited program. New programs that have been awarded candidacy status are noted as "Accreditation Candidate."
Accrediting agencies recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) are required to notify the public, regional accreditors, selected specialized recognized accreditors, state agencies responsible for post-secondary education, and the USDE of final accreditation decisions.
Summary of Accreditation Actions
The CAA took the following actions at its meeting February 20–23, 2013. The decisions were based on the level of compliance with the current Standards for Accreditation of Graduate Education Programs in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology. The standards address administrative structure and governance, faculty, academic and clinical curriculum, students, assessment, and program resources.
The programs, grouped by the type of decision made, are listed in alphabetical order by institution name.
