Liaisons with the Vice Presidents for Standards and Ethics in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology

Committee Charge

Implement, monitor, and revise as necessary, the Specialty Recognition Standards; formulate procedures for applications from petitioning groups for creation of specialty commissions; monitor each specialty commission in the development of the mechanisms to verify compliance with the specific requirements of the Standards for Recognition as a Specialist and ensure that each specialty commission administers its requirements with efficiency and fairness and imposes equitable requirements for proper documentation from applicants; and establish a procedure to hear appeals from individuals who were denied recognition by a specialty commission.
