Description of opportunity: Each Practice Portal topic page involves three milestones at which different subject matter experts are involved in reviewing and contributing to content. Each milestone requires a balance of research- and practice- focused subject matter expert review. Time commitment ranges from 2 hours(Milestone 1) to 6-8 hours (Milestone 3) usually concentrated in a two week time period.

To apply, send an email to cwalsh@asha.org indicating your interest.  In the email, please include your name, a brief bio summarizing your experience, and an indication of the topic area(s) you would like to be considered for.

Visit the Practice Portal to see a list of topics slated for development in the coming year.

Experience Required: Subject matter experts are well-respected in their field and have dedicated a significant amount of their professional career to studying and/or practicing in the specific subject area being addressed. Questions considered when identifying subject matter experts include:

If they are a researcher, where and when have they published on this topic?  Do their publishing credits include peer reviewed journals? If they are practice-based, where and when have they spoken on this topic?
